Update 9th Jan 2004

Just got back from lab testing again and my results have really improved in the last two months. I've lost 3kg of weight plus my heart rates and blood lactates are lower for each speed. This means that the training that I have done has been worth while which is always pleasing! - No one likes to think that a two hour run or a killer hill session is not going to improve fitness!

Even when I was running up and around 100 miles a week, I still managed to fit in a couple of races. First I ran 8:10 for my 3k leg of the Bahrain relay, for the Saab team, in early December. Then on Boxing Day I continued my runners up spot with a PB of 19:07 for the 4 mile course in my home town of Clevedon. I then saw out the New Year with a repeat victory in the Nos Galan 5k race held in Mountain Ash on New Years Eve. A couple of days later, I completed my short cross-country season (2 races!) in the Great North International 4k race. After a shocking start, I worked my way through to finish a strong 15th. Which all together with the training and races leaves me very happy with my current fitness.

Monday sees me flying back across the atlantic to defend first my Bermuda International Mile on Friday 16th Jan, then the week later, to my favourite track the Armory in New York for the New Balance Games Mile. Can't wait to get back miling!
